Kollywood: In a surprising turn of events, popular Tamil actors Vishal and Sai Dhanshika officially got engaged on Friday, August 29, 2025. The couple chose a special day for the occasion, celebrating their engagement on Vishal’s 47th birthday.
The engagement ceremony, held in Chennai, was a private affair attended by their families and close friends. Vishal shared the joyous news and photos from the event on his X handle, writing, “Thank you all you darlings from every nook and corner of this universe for wishing and blessing me on my special birthday. Happy to share the good news of my engagement that happened today with Sai Dhanshika amidst our families. Feeling positive and blessed. Seeking your blessings and good vibes as always.”
A Postponed Wedding and a Public Love Story
The engagement follows the couple’s official announcement of their relationship in May 2025. At a press conference, Dhanshika spoke about her 15-year-long friendship with Vishal, recalling how he supported her during a difficult time. “When I was in deep trouble, he visited my home and raised his voice for me,” she said.
Vishal also expressed his happiness, stating, “She is a wonderful person. They say God saves the best for the last, and I believe he saved Dhanshika for me. We are going to lead a positive and lovely life.”
While the couple had initially planned to get married on August 29, 2025, the wedding has been postponed. Vishal, who is the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, explained that he wants the wedding to take place after the new Nadigar Sangam building is completed and inaugurated.
Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Sai Dhanshika is awaiting the release of her film Yogi Da. Meanwhile, Vishal is currently busy with his 35th film, Magudam, directed by Ravi Arasu. The movie also stars Dushara Vijayan, Yogi Babu, and Anjali.
