The Rajinikanth-starrer hit screens on 14 August and faced a major box office clash with War 2. Despite the competition, Coolie collected a strong ₹510 crore worldwide within just 20 days. Now, fans can catch it on streaming without much wait.

Coolie will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from 11 September. The movie will release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The official handle of Prime Video confirmed the update on X (formerly Twitter) with a poster of Rajinikanth as Deva and a sneak peek of his flashback sequences.

The quick Coolie OTT release has left fans surprised. Many expected a longer gap between the theatrical and digital debut. “Just one month after release? Is Coolie a flop?” asked one fan online. Others questioned why the Hindi version was excluded from the September 11 launch.

About the Film

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie stars Rajinikanth in the lead alongside Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Sathyaraj, Upendra, and Aamir Khan.

The story follows Deva (Rajinikanth), a former coolie union leader, who investigates his friend Rajasekhar’s (Sathyaraj) sudden death. His search pits him against cartel boss Simon (Nagarjuna) and Dayal (Soubin). Though the film received mixed reviews, strong word of mouth helped it perform well at the box office.

Unlike Lokesh’s earlier projects such as Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo, Coolie is not a part of his cinematic universe.
