India women vs Ireland women: India Opts to Bat First Against Ireland in Final ODI, Aiming for Series Whitewash
India Looks for Series Sweep After Winning Toss
India women vs Ireland women: Rajkot, India – India won the toss and elected to bat first against Ireland in the third and final One Day International (ODI) at Rajkot. Stand-in captain Smriti Mandhana will lead the charge as India looks to complete a clean sweep of the series after securing convincing victories in the first two matches.
Having already clinched the series, India has made two changes to their playing XI. Minnu Mani and Tanuja Kanwar come in, replacing Saima Thakor and Priya Mishra. Ireland, on the other hand, has opted for an unchanged side.
India enters the match with high confidence, particularly after posting a mammoth 370 for 5 in the second ODI – their highest-ever ODI total. While Mandhana stated they have no specific target in mind for this match, the team will undoubtedly aim to continue their dominant batting performance.
“We do not have a target in mind,” Mandhana said after winning the toss. “We just want to see how it goes.”
Ireland captain Gaby Lewis, who also expressed a desire to bat first, commented, “We have had two days off and are well rested.” Her team will be eager to avoid a whitewash and finish the series on a positive note.
