142 Teachers Benefit Within 10 Days

LUCKNOW: Within just ten days of its official launch, the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Suraksha Cashless Chikitsa Yojana has emerged as a major healthcare lifeline for teachers and their families across Uttar Pradesh. Launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on July 8, 2026, the scheme has moved at an extraordinary pace, already approving cashless treatments worth Rs 37.81 lakh for 142 beneficiaries across 47 districts.

Rapid Implementation Provides Immediate Medical Relief

The scheme’s prompt execution has ensured that eligible teachers and their dependants receive seamless access to essential healthcare services without any financial friction.

According to Archana Verma, CEO of SACHIJ, the approvals cross-cut both primary and secondary state education wings:

  • Basic Education Department: 128 cases approved, totaling an estimated treatment cost of Rs 34.15 lakh.

  • Secondary Education Department: 14 cases approved, with an allocated amount of approximately Rs 3.66 lakh.

This swift turnaround highlights the state government’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of its teaching workforce.

Medical Specialties: General Medicine and Surgeries Lead Demand

The pre-authorizations granted under the scheme span a wide array of medical treatments, ranging from routine critical care to advanced surgeries. General Medicine and General Surgery recorded the highest volume of cases.

The benefits of the cashless healthcare scheme have quickly trickled down across 47 districts in Uttar Pradesh, addressing serious medical emergencies effectively.

Highest Number of Cases Reported:

  • Gorakhpur: 12 cases

  • Prayagraj: 7 cases

  • Jaunpur, Moradabad, and Varanasi: 6 cases each

  • Bulandshahr, Deoria, and Ayodhya: 5 cases each

  • Agra, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Bijnor, Kaushambi, Mau, and Pilibhit: 4 cases each

Highest Value of Treatment Approved:

In terms of financial aid utilized for critical medical care, Varanasi leads the state, closely followed by the Chief Minister’s home district of Gorakhpur.

  • Varanasi: Rs 3.19 lakh

  • Gorakhpur: Rs 2.39 lakh

  • Prayagraj: Rs 2.21 lakh

  • Fatehpur: Rs 2.02 lakh

  • Badaun: Rs 1.61 lakh

  • Jalaun: Rs 1.55 lakh

  • Hardoi: Rs 1.45 lakh

With its rapid, widespread adoption and robust structural framework, the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Suraksha Cashless Chikitsa Yojana is setting a new benchmark for employee welfare schemes in Uttar Pradesh, ensuring teachers can focus on education while their healthcare needs are fully safeguarded.
